In 2015, KidsPeace, an organization dedicated to the well-being of children in the foster care system, invited a select group of artists to participate in their annual fundraising campaign. Each artist was given a rough, abused chair, and asked to lovingly transform it from broken to beautiful; much like the children KidsPeace serves. I painted a chair with thousands and thousands of dots. The proceeds from the “Chair-ity’ Auction raised over $30,000. It also opened up a whole new world of artistic expression for me.

The custom shadow box frames for my mini dot paintings are made by my husband, Mat. He uses re-purposed oak; again bringing new life to cast aside material.

I am also a jewelry artist, primarily self-taught, though I’ve had enough classes to safely play with fire and metal. I travel with my pop up booth to festivals all around the Carolinas. I live in Hoke County with my husband and our faithful Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Lily.
